Nine Mile Burn is a tune which borrows it's name from a Scottish town,
so named because it is located on a river 9 miles from Edinborough Castle.

It is also rumored that the name refers to the English practice of burning everything in a nine mile radius
after sacking a town or village (we understand this is no longer done). From what we know,
this does not appear to be true.

Nine Mile Burn is a band based in Kansas City, Mo. playing traditional and original Celtic music with rock, jazz and classical infuences. Their current instrumental lineup includes guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, mandolin, mandocello, cittern and fiddle.

Since 1994, the band has brought it's lively and unique sound to bars, clubs, book stores, coffee houses, contra dances, weddings, private parties and festivals throughout Kansas and Missouri.
