Rebecca began her musical career at the age of 8 learning and performing classical violin. She attended
the University of Missouri at Columbia where she majored in applied music.
Growing up in Missouri she heard a lot of fiddlers but it wasn't until she was introduced to Celtic music
through the recordings of such groups as Steeleye Span and Planxty that she thought, "that's the way fiddling is supposed to sound". Rebecca became a founding member of mid-Missouri's first Irish band, "Swoop", and travelled often to Ireland and Scotland in search of the true tradition.
She later joined the Kansas City based band Scartaglen (which featured singer Connie Dover) and toured the
United States and Canada with them. Venues Scartaglen appeared at include: the North Texas Irish Festival, the Milwaukee Irish Festival, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, and NPR's Mountain Stage.
After the breakup of Scartaglen Rebecca remained in the Kansas City area where she has performed with virtually
every Celtic band in Kansas City.
Rebecca also currently performs classical music with the Anvil.
